So, until the RTM of win 10 comes, i am stuck with windows driver based (not creatve control panel based) 5.1 48khz sound. If I am using the software package or the win 10 driver alone, if I change the sample rate in the sound area of windows control panel from anything other than 48khz, my sound is gone and no matter what I do, I can't get it back.

On windows 8.1, you could go as high as 192khz and 5.1 sound,no problem. Because the 1.03.11 package did the same thing. I am starting to wonder if the package is a repack of a old version of the control panel with new drivers. Put it a 2.0 in the sb control panel, all sounds fine over two speakers. If I try changing the sb control panel to 5.1, the test of the speakers just skips through all the speakers without making a sound. If I take out the software package and just go with the win 10 driver which is the same as what is in the new software package, I can get 5.1 surround sound but no control panel since it only allows 2.0 sound. When I put in the new software package that posted today (july 9 2015), I can only get 2.0 sound although I am using a logitech 5.1 speaker set. UPDATE 8/2: We have released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16251 for PC to Windows Insiders in the Slow ring. what's happening is that win 10 puts in a new driver and everything is fine. I am not sure if my issue is win 10 insider preview issue (using 10162 pro) or not. I currently own a z87 classified motherboard with a recon 3di quad core sound card onboard.
